Lauren & Vinnie – Merrimack Valley Golf Club Wedding
Lauren and I (and most of her bridesmaids) instantly connected over our love of cats. My camera strap has three cat heads on it (because, well, I have three cats), which was obviously noticed as soon as I walked into the bridal suite on the afternoon of Lauren & Vinnie’s wedding (one of her bridesmaid’s and I also bonded over Conor Oberst—turns out we had talked outside The House of Blues in Boston after one of his shows a few months earlier, but that is a story for another time. My point is that it’s a small world).
What makes Lauren & Vinnie’s wedding even more “small world” like though, is the fact that they were both students at the high school my father taught at, along with most of the bridal party and a handful (or two, or three) of the wedding guests. So, of course, once that was realized, I would be referred to as “Mr. MacEachern’s daughter” for the remainder of the day :)
So Lauren & Vinnie had met in high school and here they were, roughly ten years later, tying the knot. I felt pretty lucky to have been a part of everything!
Their ceremony and reception were both held at Merrimack Valley Golf Club in Methuen, Massachusetts—which is a stunning venue if you’ve never checked it out!
It was a ridiculously humid and sunny September day, but Lauren & Vinnie weren’t bothered. It was so easy to see the love these two shared; from their first look and couple portraits, to capturing the wedding party, their families and ceremony—they had constant smiles on their faces (which, of course, makes me constantly smile along with them). I don’t use the term “perfect wedding” lightly, but I would definitely consider calling Lauren & Vinnie’s wedding pretty darn perfect.
Cocktail hour and introductions went off without a hitch (with Lauren and Vinnie having an epic intro), and the speeches had everyone cracking up, even Lauren’s grandmother, which was really sweet.
After parent dances and the cake cutting, we snuck outside to do a few more photos of the two of them. Although the sunset wasn’t particularly amazing that night, Lauren & Vinnie enjoyed the fresh air and having a few minutes to themselves.
Lauren & Vinnie said “dancing shoes required” on their wedding website, and as soon as dinner was over, I understood why—DJ Bob Stackpole from Get Down Tonight Entertainment really knew how to get people moving—I don’t think anyone stayed in their seats for long, not even grandma!
Before I left for the evening I made sure to get a photo of all the students who went to Alvirne High School—I knew they would appreciate it, and I knew my father, Mr. MacEachern, would too!
