Info on picking out your Album Photos
What we usually like to do is have you pick the majority of the photos that you want to go into the album. As we go through the design process, we may pick a few to augment and complete the design.
Logging In to Shootproof: We find that the best way to select photos is by logging in to your ShootProof gallery using the Client Access Code, which you can find in the Gallery Info Email that was sent to you when your Final Collection was ready. Once logged in as a client, you can use Album Labels to label your photos in your ShootProof gallery – we can access these Labels, which makes it really easy to share your selections with us!
Labeling Photos: To label a photo, simply click on the photo so you can see it enlarged, click the label button below the photo and choose the label you’d like to use. You can see all your Labeled photos by clicking on “Favorites” in the top menu bar, and then clicking Labels. There are two Album Labels you can use:
Must Haves: for your album, pick out 40 or so “must have photos” – these photos will go in the album no matter what!
Extras: select another 60 or so photos for us to choose from to create the best flow. We try to get as many in as possible, but we may not be able to include every one and still create a good flow.
Adding More Pages: If you decide to choose more photos than what we’ve outlined above, that’s totally fine – in this case we usually recommend adding pages to your album to make sure that it flows nicely and the photos aren’t too small or crammed together. When you’ve selected your photos, let us know and we will make recommendations on how many pages to add.
Keep Us Posted: Once you’ve chosen all the photos you’d like, let us know. We’ll go to work making an initial design and then find a time to meet and go over everything, including changes to the design, cover color, other options, etc. Initial design ETAs vary depending on the time of year, usually taking somewhere between 3-5 weeks during slower months of the year, and 4-6 weeks in the peak of wedding season.
Design Review: When we finish the initial design, we’ll send you a link to your Album Proof. At this point, it will be time to dialogue about changes you’d like made to the design. Once you’ve approved the design, you can decide what you’d like the outside of your book to look like – colors, materials and other options.
Parent Books: There are two kinds of parent books – Custom Design and Duplicate Design.
If you booked with Duplicate Parent Books, your parents will get the same design that you order. Upgrading to a Custom Parent Book Design is $100 per custom design. Either way, they will have the option to choose their own cover material.
For custom parent book design(s), frequently parents will choose to use some of the spreads we design for the big book (like the pages with the ceremony, for instance) and then add more of the photos that they pick out as the book progresses. As such, we always recommend that they take a look at your final design before picking out photos for their designs. Knowing if they want to keep any of the original spreads helps us recommend how many additional photos they should pick out.
We hope this information is helpful to you, and we look forward to working on your design with you soon!
