    Questions? We have answers! So many couples tell us they don’t even know where to start when it comes to photography for their wedding, so we put together the top 5 questions we always get asked. We know wedding planning can be overwhelming! When you work with Solare, we’ll be there to offer our expertise and make sure your day goes smoothly.     We’re awkward – do we have to come up with poses?

    We get this question all the time! The way we do photos of the two of you is designed to make sure you are having fun and feeling natural, all while making sure that the photos look great too. We’ll give suggestions/direction when needed, but never in an awkward or pose-y way – we want the photos to fit your personalities. If you don’t feel comfortable, you won’t look comfortable! We talk to you throughout and make it a good time instead of a chore or something to fear :)

    How many hours do I need?

    We’ll definitely go over this in more detail when we talk, because everyone’s day is different. Generally speaking, if your event is all in one place or really close by, starting with 7 hours of coverage can work great. If you plan on having a longer church service, or driving to multiple locations, we might suggest starting with 8 hours of coverage. But it all depends on what is important to you!!!

    Some couples love the idea of capturing a sparkler send-off or getting some epic late-night shots. And, some couples feel that they want extra time for more getting ready photos or pre-ceremony “formal” photos, so we’d plan to start earlier in the day. Whatever your day and priorities look like, we’ll work with you to put together the perfect schedule so we are getting photos that tell the story of YOUR day.

    What’s a first look? Should we do one?

    A first look is a time before the ceremony where you see each other, just the two of you, for the first time. It’s a really sweet moment, and we absolutely love them! There’s something about having time together without the pressure of eyes on you or the immediacy of the actual ceremony that can be really comforting and reassuring.

    They are also great because usually, we’ll plan it so that after the first look, there is time to do a big portion of the more “formal” photos of the day – photos of the two of you, wedding party, and sometimes family. Scheduling things this way allows more time for a greater variety of photos (including fun wedding party setups!), and it also makes it so that you can attend part of cocktail hour after the ceremony and spend more time with your guests!!

    Of course, there’s something magical about seeing each other for the first time at the ceremony too, so there’s really no wrong choice here.

    What happens if it rains??

    Rainy day weddings are no one’s first choice, but we’ve had our fair share! It’s always great to know what the backup options at your venue are, but no matter what, we’ll work to make sure we get some wow photos, especially when it comes to the two of you. Whether it’s finding creative inside spots, waiting for that 10-minute break in the rain to dash outside and have a lightning-round of photos (no pun intended), or taking umbrellas out if it’s not coming down too badly, we will be there for plans B, C, and D.

    When do I get to see the photos?

    This is the big one!! We know that you are literally dying to see the photos as soon as the day is over, and waiting can be agony. Fortunately, since wedding photography is our full time job, we have a pretty well-oiled machine when it comes to post-wedding workflows. We do our best to get a couple early looks on Instagram the week after the wedding, put a sneak peek on Facebook around the 3-week mark, and then your online gallery with your final collection is ready 5-6 weeks after the wedding. Easy peasy!!

    We’ll also try to sneak you a look or two on the day just so you can feel reassured that they are coming out the way you had hoped :)
